This week I interviewed Meg Petchel and I learned a lot of things. One thing I learned was that she is gluten-free and her favorite place to eat when she eats gluten is Chick-Fil-a (but when she eats there she gets a little sick). When she goes to Chick-Fil-a she gets a chicken sandwich with fries and Chick-fil-a sauce. Her favorite place to eat when she has to eat gluten-free she goes to Shake Shack because they have gluten-free buns. Then I asked her if you had to pick one superpower what would it be?” She said that she would want to be able to beam/teleport herself to places. Her direct quote was “I’m glad you asked that. I have thought about this a lot. If I could have one superpower, it would be to be able to beam myself places. That way I could be anywhere at any time I wanted.” Then I asked if you had one wish, what would it be and she said, “If I had one wish, it would be to know that I was going to be happy forever.”

When I asked her about what her hidden talents were, she said she can burp the alphabet and name every U.S. President. I thought that was really impressive!

If Meg could work in another department or have another job, it would be to be a sports agent for football coaches. The reason that she said this is important to her is that her dad and uncle were both coaches for football. Her uncle coaches for the New Orleans Saints and her dad coached at UVA and Penn State. She loves football because she feels like it is part of her family.

I asked if you have ever discovered something disturbing on a student’s device she said I have discovered something on a device before and she said they were mean texts.” She is a 5th-grade teacher at Pilgrim, but she feels like she knows a lot of the students because she started teaching here four years ago.

Thank you Mrs. Petchel for your time and have a great year.
